Hello Friend ......

Tuesday, 8 September 2015

Hi Stampers,

Today's card project features Mama Elephants "Up and Away" stamp set, also the "sunday stroll sentiments stamps.
For the card base I used basic black cardstock with the Mama Elephant basic die creative cuts set, i used the largest die, which has a scalloped edge.

for the main layer I used Stampin'Up!'s Very vanilla cardstock as the base. I also used stampin'up's whisper white cardstock for the clouds , which i cut out with the lawn fawn's spring showers dies.

i stamped the up and away character onto whisper white cardstock with Momento tuxedo black in and coloured with spectrum noir alcohol markers.

I cut out the grass using lawn fawns grassy border die and some scraps from a paper pad.
I  also cut a strip of vellum and embossed the hello friend sentiment with versamark and wow white embossing powder and heat embossed.

I adhered the clouds flat and then used dimensionals ( foam squares )  for the characters and the grass to give some dimension.

Ella and friends by Mama Elephant

Thursday, 3 September 2015

Hi Stampers,
For today's card I used  Mama Elephants "Ella and Friends " stamp set.

The card base is Stampin'Up's Basic Black cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Main layer is Ranger watercolour card, which i die cut using lawn fawn's small stitched rectangle dies ( the largest)   and did a technique I saw on you tube called smooshing !  I believe it was a video by  Laura Bassen.

what i did was grab a piece of acetate or you could you some old stamp packaging or an avery stamp pocket for this, I grabbed  my distress ink minis and pulled out peacock feathers, salty ocean and picked raspberry.
I then smeared the pad on the acetate and spritzed with water and smooshed the acetate onto the watercolour card and repeated with all the colours let it dry and  then grab some water on my fingers and flicked it onto the background, this technique seems to wick away and colour under the water and if you use a paper towel to grab the excess water of you can get some lovely effects and voila a very pretty background.

I stamped the elephant and bunny on Neenah solar white card stock with momento tuxedo black ink, as i want to colour the character in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I coloured them in and then fussy cut them out.

I also stamped the sentiment with the momento tuxedo black in , in hindsight i would probably have used my ranger archival black ink as it is waterproof.

I adhered the fussy cut characters to the card front with foam tape to give it some dimenension. Finally I added some sequins  with my cosmic shimmer glue and the card is finshed.....

Supplies used

Ranger watercolour card
acetate
lawn fawn Small stitched rectangle dies
Distress ink Minis
water spritzer
Mama elephant "ella and friends " stampset
Nennah solar white cardstock
momento tuxedo black ink
spectrum noir alcohol markers
foam tape
sequins

Tuesday, 1 September 2015

Hi Stampers,

Firstly i want to apologise for the quality of the photo, my phone decided it didn't want play ball and all my photos are coming out blurred !!! Hopefully i will manage to rectify this soon.

The card base is whisper white, then a real red layer and finally simply irrestible dsp ( white on white embossed 12 x 12  ) for the top layer , which i coloured with Night of navy Ink . ( all by stampin'up!) .
I cut two of the clearly besotted cityscape dies, one in white and one in hello honey by Stampin'Up!.

I stamped the superhero sentiment onto the mama elephant bold banner creative cut die in whisper white with momento tuxedo black. I also the POW image from uniko stamps onto whisper white with the tuxedo black in and fussy cut it out.
For the hero image stamped and die cut and then coloured it in using my spectrum noir alcohol markers.
I adhered everything to the card , some with foam pads to add dimension and the card is done. I hope you like todays fun card, I'm sure any you boy would love to receive this, I mean who doesn't want to be a superhero!!!

Friday, 28 August 2015

Hi Stampers,
For today's card i decided to used the cute "bring on the cake" stamp set by The Cat's Pajamas Stamp company. It turned out so cute and I have a feeling i will be using it on alot in my card projects,

The card base is 9 x 5 1/2 , scored at 4 1/4 in Neenah solar whire cardstock, the next layer is basic black and the next is  Bristol smooth watercolour card , which I cut using the Stitched die from the Mama elephant  basic die creative cuts set.

I stamped the Image using ranger archival black as it's waterproof and ideal for watercolouring, I then coloured it using my Zig real colour brush markers and my aquapainter to blend and smooth it out.

I created the background using winnie and walters confetti stamp set, which I stamped using my SU ink pads in tempting turquoise, melon mambo, daffodil delight and crisp cantelope. For the ground i used Pear pizazz from SU and my aquapainter, to created the grass i just used my zig real colour pens.

MFT Have a Beary special day shaker card

Thursday, 27 August 2015

Hi stampers,
For today's card project , I decided I wanted to make a shaker card using the MFT birthday bears stamp set  and the mama elephant love quotes die

I just love how it turned out! I used my spectrum noir markers to colour in the bears, balloons and presents.
For the card base I used whisper white cardstock and for the layers I also used whisper white card  and  Stampin'Up's coastal cabana cardstock. Which I cut using the mama elephants basic die creative cuts.

For the shaker part I cut the aperture using the mama elephant love quotes die, to which I attached acetate I then surround the aperture area with foam tape making sure I was completely enclosed ,so all the shaker elements, sequins, seed beads etc would not escape !
I stamped the happy birthday sentiment onto the shaker backer and filled the shaker. I then place and adhered all the stamped coloured and cut elements onto the front of the card.
I finished of by adding texture with my white gel pen and finally adding glossy accents to the balloons and presents.

Once it was all dry I put the card together and voila the card is finished!
