Hi Stampers,
For today's card I used Mama Elephants "Ella and Friends " stamp set.
The card base is Stampin'Up's Basic Black cardstock cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Main layer is Ranger watercolour card, which i die cut using lawn fawn's small stitched rectangle dies ( the largest) and did a technique I saw on you tube called smooshing ! I believe it was a video by Laura Bassen.
what i did was grab a piece of acetate or you could you some old stamp packaging or an avery stamp pocket for this, I grabbed my distress ink minis and pulled out peacock feathers, salty ocean and picked raspberry.
I then smeared the pad on the acetate and spritzed with water and smooshed the acetate onto the watercolour card and repeated with all the colours let it dry and then grab some water on my fingers and flicked it onto the background, this technique seems to wick away and colour under the water and if you use a paper towel to grab the excess water of you can get some lovely effects and voila a very pretty background.
I stamped the elephant and bunny on Neenah solar white card stock with momento tuxedo black ink, as i want to colour the character in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. I coloured them in and then fussy cut them out.
I also stamped the sentiment with the momento tuxedo black in , in hindsight i would probably have used my ranger archival black ink as it is waterproof.
I adhered the fussy cut characters to the card front with foam tape to give it some dimenension. Finally I added some sequins with my cosmic shimmer glue and the card is finshed.....
